Visualising the Environment – A Reflective Lens on Environmental Photography
Photographic images shape perceptions and the ways in which we understand the environment.
This highly interactive workshop explores a wide range of environmental themes through an illustrated seminar, active discussion, image critique, demonstration of techniques and a practical field trip. It goes beyond the literal representations of 'nature photography' to address the thought processes behind creating compelling and meaningful images and visual stories.
Participants require their own cameras and to bring additional batteries or battery charger. For the critique session, they will be required to submit two images in advance of the workshop (further details will be forwarded). Participants are asked to wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear for the field trip, which will go ahead regardless of weather
This event series aims to build citizen relationship with Bendigo parks and reserves through creative engagement. Through cooking indigenous plants, conversations evolve around cultural significance of our land; through Nature Journaling, an eye for the detail and beauty reaches its maturity; through building a bee hotel, an understanding of nature’s synergies grows; and through the lens of a camera, participants nurture a whole new perspective on the splendour and the intricacies of our land.
